Oklahoma Bingo

[ English ]

Oklahoma has long been synonymous with Bingo. That is owing to the fact that the Amerindian tribes of Oklahoma have run Bingo sessions for years. Patrons from all of the surrounding states pile in vans and travel into Oklahoma to play Bingo for the weekends.

The 1988 (IGRA) Indian Gaming Regulatory Act was introduced after a precedent setting ruling by The U.S. Supreme Court the year before. From that instance, 23 of the thirty nine Indian tribes of Oklahoma have introduced bingo halls. The Chickasaw were the first Oklahoma American Indian tribes to take advantage of the gambling restrictions, and at this time run 10 casinos of their own. Bingo was the game on which the above-mentioned gambling halls were founded. digital games like slot machine games weren’t authorized, since they’re thought to lead to gambling problems at a higher rate than bingo.

In recent years, Oklahoma governing edicts have changed to permit massive Native wagering casinos. You’ll now find American Indian gambling halls with slot machines, video poker and blackjack tables. Craps and roulette are not yet approved in the Amerindian casinos as of yet, but this is simply a matter of time. Nobody can determine what having other games in the bingo parlors will do for the appeal of bingo.
