Oklahoma has long been interrelated with Bingo. That’s because the Native bands of Oklahoma have run Bingo games for many years. Clients from many of the neighboring states load up in cars and travel to Oklahoma to gamble on Bingo over the weekends.
The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA) was introduced after a benchmark determination by The U.S. Supreme Court the year before. From that time, twenty three of the 39 American Indian bands of Oklahoma have introduced gambling halls. The Chickasaw were the first Oklahoma Amerindian band to take advantage of the wagering rules, and today run ten gambling dens of their own. Bingo was the game on which the above-mentioned gambling dens were founded. computerized games like slot machines were not approved, due to the fact that they are believed to contribute to gambling dependency at a higher rate than bingo.
In the past few years, Oklahoma governing edicts have changed to permit large Native gaming casinos. You’ll now discover Indian gambling dens with slots, video poker and twenty-one tables. Craps and roulette are not yet approved in the Amerindian casinos yet, but this is simply a waiting game. Nobody can determine whether having different games in the bingo houses will do for the draw of bingo.
