Oklahoma has for a long time been synonymous with Bingo. That is owing to the fact that the Indian bands of Oklahoma have provided Bingo sessions for many years. Patrons from many of the neighboring states pile in trucks and visit Oklahoma to play Bingo over the weekends.
The 1988 IGRA was introduced after a benchmark decree by The U.S. Supreme Court the year prior. From that instance, 23 of the 39 American Indian bands located in Oklahoma have introduced gaming halls. The Chickasaw were the 1st Oklahoma American Indian tribes to take advantage of the gambling restrictions, and today control 10 gambling halls of their own. Bingo is the game on which these casinos were built on. automated games such as slots weren’t permitted, on the grounds that they are believed to lead to gambling dependency more than bingo.
In the past few years, Oklahoma law have altered to permit massive Amerindian gambling gambling dens. You will now see Indian gambling halls with slot machines, video poker and 21 tables. Craps and roulette are not yet approved in the Indian gambling dens as of yet, although that is just a waiting game. No one can say whether having different games in the bingo houses will do for the appeal of bingo.
